Cambiamo Aria 2024 Regional Competition
Outdoor air purification through an integrated high-pressure water-misting system.
This prototype was created to reduce fine particulate matter in heavily polluted cities. Atomised water droplets capture pollutants, while a directed airflow moves them towards the ground and helps restore healthier air in the breathing zone.
The system activates only in occupied areas and for the time people remain outdoors. The prototype was further improved for Maker Faire 2024 with intelligent sensors, sector-based controls and underground tanks for collecting and reusing rainwater whenever WHO air-quality thresholds are exceeded.
