Wild Defender AI: Smart Crop Protection System
On 3–4 September in Quadrivio di Campagna, two free hands-on days for young people aged 14–24 to build an intelligent crop-protection system.
On 3 and 4 September 2026, RCR Innovative Labs ETS APS will host Wild Defender AI: Smart Crop Protection System at its premises in Quadrivio di Campagna. The event is entirely free and open to young people aged 14 to 24.
The activity starts from a real local challenge: damage to crops caused by wild animals. Participants will design and build a system that detects an animal and activates non-harmful deterrent signals.
During the first day, participants will explore coding, electronics, automation and 3D printing, using accessible development environments, an ESP32 board, motion sensors, relays, coloured LED lights and audio devices.
The second day will focus on assembly, testing and installation in a field near the RCR premises, turning digital skills into a practical response to a community need.
